Steenbock’s on Orchard is the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery’s exclusive on-site caterer, providing innovative menus and exemplary service for events large and small. We raise the bar with contemporary dishes prepared from scratch by our talented culinary team using only the freshest local and regional ingredients available. Our extensive, unique catering menu spans hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie boards to plated entrées, salads, desserts, and more—we look forward to designing a custom menu to fit your vision and enhance the experience. Our bar is fully stocked with top-shelf liquors, a curated selection of wine, locally sourced beers, and ciders, along with several exciting spirit-free options as well, from sodas and spritzes to non-alcoholic beers and liqueurs.

 

The Dining Room

Capacity: 80 guests seated, 120 guests cocktail reception  

The Space: The contemporary décor and abstract art provide an ideal space for private seated dinners, cocktail parties, and business functions, with a folding glass wall that opens to a covered, outdoor dining area (weather permitting). This room is perfect for everything from Happy Hour gatherings to gourmet plated dinners.   

Room Rental Fee: $350 

Rental Includes: Up to 5 hours of service, custom set-up, basic staffing, china and linens.  

Bartender fees and A/V rentals incur additional charges.  

A 19% service fee applies to all food and beverage costs.  

The Private Dining Room

Capacity: 14 seated guests. 

The Space: Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the open building, our Private Dining room provides a distraction-free setting to host your next big meeting or presentation, with the benefit of a full kitchen and bar just across the hall. Our conference table comfortably seats 14 attendees for your next meeting, with A/V equipment available. Your guests may either order off the restaurant menu, or you may pre-arrange a meal for them from our extensive catering menu. 

Room Rental Fee: $75 

Rental Includes: Up to 3 hours of service, basic staffing, china, and linens. 

A/V rentals incur additional charges.  

A 19% service fee is applied to all food and beverage costs of our catered meals.  

Restaurant Lounge and Patio

Capacity: 60 guests seated, 150 guests cocktail reception 

The Space: Our full restaurant and bar space offers large, sunny windows and an open-air atmosphere in the plant-filled atrium of the Discovery Building. A beautiful limestone bar runs the length, with three TVs available for the big game or your own presentation. Bordered by greenery, our seating options include intimate tables and mingling-friendly high-tops. When the weather agrees, you may open the large glass doors to the covered patio. 

Room Rental: $350 

Only available for rental on Saturdays.
